Beginning with clothing

Clothing is where QINGCHEN begins, not where the studio ends.

A coat, a length of cloth, a low table, even a meal prepared together may become part of the work. The category can change; the judgement and pace remain.

Form

A silhouette leaves room for movement, layering and breath.

Surface

Washing, creasing and time allow a material to reveal its character.

Relationship

A piece takes shape through fitting, adjustment and meeting again. It does not end at the point of sale.

The images in this first edition establish a visual measure. They will gradually give way to photographs of QINGCHEN’s own work and studio.
